Blush and White Equestrian Wedding at the Discovery Lodge

When the Joest family asked us to design and create their daughter’s dream wedding, we were thrilled to hear that Anna was a passionate equestrian and wanted to bring in subtle details of horses to the reception. Choosing a color palette of blush pink and whites, the entire look was light and airy.

To create a stunning ceremony backdrop, we took our vintage wicker arch and floral stands and decked it out with pink roses, white hydrangeas, other assorted flowers and greenery, greenery, greenery! The floral smell was intoxicating as you walked in! The aisle was lined on either side with white lanterns.

Adding the perfect touch were the pink award ribbons Anna had earned over the years. We incorporated them into our large floral vase arrangements so the ribbons could hang.

Their head table was set in front of the massive stone fireplace where two large horse cutouts were placed along with their horseshoe initials signage.

Silk blush napkins were tied with tiny silver horseshoe favors and miniature silver horses were scattered among the guest tables.

Floral arrangements were placed in our antique silver teapots and urns bringing an old world metal accents reminiscent of derby trophies.

We were so happy when we saw how our friend Sharin Shank photographed everything!

Tonya and Ryan – A Natural Wedding in French Lick, Indiana

A - Cover Feature Photo

We are excited at seeing this wedding in the current issue of ENGAGED! River Valley magazine as one of the Real Wedding features. Take a look at the issue below:

Tonya came to me wanting a natural, unpretentious wedding with fresh floral, simple white layered color palette and clean subtle signage and stationery.

When planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a place that was removed from distractions and allowed them to immerse themselves in the wedding experience and enjoy an intimate weekend with many family and friends who had come in from all over the country. Wilstem Ranch in French Lick, Indiana was the perfect choice with their rolling countryside, trails and cabins.

Having never done a wedding at Wilstem, myself and DayLily Events Wedding planner – Jamie Brewer (who also happens to be a dear friend) were excited to see what we could do with the unique, rustic, barn-like venue and the natural outdoor ceremony location.

We all settled on an understated look that reflected the couple’s taste of natural colors, elegant candlelight and fresh floral decor. Against the unstained wood and loft beams of the venue, it was a perfect compliment.

Never have I seen a couple so respectful and conscientious of each other’s desires. It’s wonderful to be able to work with people who share so much love.

Thank you Tonya and Ryan for letting me and my crew bring your wedding day visions to life. It was a beautiful and memorable wedding weekend.

Ooh Baby! We’ve been waiting to do this one. Epic scenery, passion and Scottish details. If you’ve ever watched Outlander on Starz we know you have the Fraser Fever. So while I throw some cold water on myself, I’ll just put some sneak peek photos up here of our Highland Passion inspiration shoot now being featured in the Summer 2018 Issue of ENGAGED! River Valley.

Check it out!

And a little behind-the-scenes shot of me in my creation zone! I had a lot of fun with my good friend Laura (of Esther Bloom Photography) doing this one. Oh and thanks to our Highland model man for helping haul, sprinkle flowers and light candles : ) It’s always good to have a man around.

Liberation Launch

Had the fun pleasure of putting together the LoveItEvv! Summer Liberation issue launch party, hosted at the oh-so-hipster office of BlackStrap Media located in the reviving Jacobsville neighborhood.

Kana Brown, editor of LoveItEvv! gave me two words: Hipster Rebel. While we definitely went hipster style, it developed into a Rebel Princess vibe complete with glitter tattoos and splashes of blood pink. Guests dug into a gourmet nacho bar and had cocktails courtesy of the always-delicious Sauced.

Kana’s magazines always develop into a collection of moving, empowering messages aimed at Evansville women and men with conscience and passion for our city and the part they play in it.

This edition’s central focus was on Liberation. As usual, the issue did not disappoint with articles from several different locals and their stories of personal liberation. Get your digital issue and read it for yourself at

To match that theme, we put together a warrior vibe complete with arrows, modern art and motivational messages from the powerful poem “Liberation: Finally” by Charnika Baltzell.

It was a great night with a collection of creative, passionate people.

Old Courthouse Gothic Inspired Wedding

Eliza and Mike came to me with visions of a fun, one-of-a-kind wedding. Both of them have a keen sense of unique style and loved the idea of infusing humor and unconventional quirks throughout their wedding design.

Using their venue, the amazing Old Courthouse of Evansville as inspiration, we went to work creating a gothic-haunted-mansion vibe for their personality infused wedding.

Our first step in bringing their style to life was the custom design of their invitations and signage. Using Eliza’s love for haunting art and bats and Mike’s passion for music composition, we created several designs for their one-of-a-kind stationery suite and wedding signage. The gothic style gave guests a hint of the decor to come and using Mike’s own music composition was a subtle nod to the mystery and music of the night to come.

Taking a cue from the custom graphic design, we used real vines and branches to create beautiful and slightly creepy decor – perfect for a haunted mansion feel. Moss, botanical plants, ravens and moths all played a part in bringing this look to life. Antique silver platters, candelabras and green crystal goblets all worked to elevate the decor style to fit with the opulence of the Old Courthouse’s magnificent architecture.

For the fresh floral bridal bouquet, Eliza had Zeidler’s put together this amazing arrangement full of texture and nontraditional floral elements.

It was a joy working with Mike and Eliza and having the opportunity to bring their amazing style to life.

Baring my journey

A couple months ago I was asked by Kana Brown, editor of LoveItEvv! Magazine to write an article centered on the issue’s theme of Rebirth. Although my own personal rebirth as a business owner has been a gradual one, it was one that crystallized my goals and revealed to me who I am and what I want. By far, the most personal thing I have ever done publicly. Here is the gorgeous magazine cover. Download your own digital copy at

As a bonus, Kana asked if I would design and produce her 2 year LoveIt! magazine anniversary party to celebrate the new edition. Taking the theme of Rebirth, we went to work creating a rustic-modern mix and incorporating symbols of growth such as lush moss and greenery and lightbulbs to symbolize creativity and the spark that leads you to new endeavors. We custom designed signage to support the event brand and reinforce the magazine’s message of renewal.

And of course no party would be complete without a photo-op backdrop!

Having the party at the newly opened Farmer and Frenchman in Henderson Kentucky was amazing. The beauty and filtered lighting of the barn elevated the entire event! Katy and her husband have such ambitions for their venue/winery/bedandbreakfast – I cannot wait to see it all complete. It was a wonderful evening with fabulous people.

In honor of Throw Back Thursday, we are posting pics we took at last fall’s Pretty Party. Apparently we were swamped that month and didn’t get these up on the blog.

Glad we can share these photos with you now in all their romantic glow.

We aspired to create a feast table straight out of your favorite period romance novel. A setting so warm that Jane Austen would feel at home dazzling her guests with quips and wit. Candlelit and set with our pink-hued vintage china, it was a tablescape drenched in old-world romance. The Ballroom at Sauced served as the perfect venue.

The icing on the cake was literally the iced cakes. Set in our mismatched teacups, we placed them on one of our vintage bar carts and served each of our guests the most beautiful cupcakes made with love by our friends at Piece of Cake Bakery.

Stunning flower arrangements by Petal and Pine graced the table as guests learned about specialty cocktails, perfect skin regimes, hand-lettering and the art to creating flower crowns.

Props to Andrea Whitehead of House of White for pulling this most Pretty Party together.

Charles & Miranda

Recently featured in LoveItEvv! Magazine, Charles and Miranda’s intimate outdoor ceremony was one of our favorite weddings this past summer. The couple wanted a simple ceremony in front of their closest family and friends and utilized Evansville’s Mesker Park for its beautiful wooded setting.

Wanting something different and unique, we used various grades and sheens of chainwork to drape and twist throughout the overall decor, fusing modern style with romance. Stationery was created by our very own Bobbi Hammonds to reflect the tones and echo the chain’s graphic look on the signage and programs. Vintage linens and coverlets were set on tables in lieu of traditional tablecloths and a boxed lunch was provided for guests. Floral arrangements by Simply Fresh Floral gave everything the finishing touch.

Tis’ the Season Tea

A few months ago we were asked to be a part of the Evansville Museum Guild’s Tis the Season Tea, an event they hold every year to honor museum members and bring awareness to the Guild.

We assisted with the Tea’s branding, creating ads to reflect the tradition of this decades long event as well as overall decor and design and a table for charity alongside other amazing designers from the area.

Hosted by Nikki Davis and held at her gorgeous newly renovated home – Evansville’s Historic Boehne House, it was a beautiful afternoon of mingling and holiday celebration.
